MTV Sports features B.A.S.E jumper John Vincent who hit the World Trade Center, St. Louis Arch, and the inside of the Superdome in New Orleans. These jumps from the early 90's seem kind of tame compared to the latest rage of flying bat suit jumpers but it was quite radical and dangerous at the time, and still is.
John where ever you are, you were a big inspiration to me to push it in my own hobby of windsurfing.

  • I am glad you posted this video and I am glad to hear he is still alive. I used to live next door to John and made a few jumps with him back in the early 90's. Watching this brought back some memories. I used to race a Yamaha FZR and vividly remember him on that red Suzuki GSXR.... 1LSUredneck do you a way to contact John?

  • I remember when this dude jumped off the Arch. The fact that he spent 2 hours climbing THE LEG with suction cups was absolutely amazing . Unbelievable.

  • @missymoscato

i dont know if it was really him, but a man approached me while i was skating at the local skate park in downtown honolulu and started talking story with me. and we got to the convo of him doing base jumps. at first i didnt believe him, untill he told me to look up "john Vincent base jump" on youtube. and i guess he wasnt lying. but from the looks of it, he doesnt seem like hes in the best time of his life.

  • @Mlskier He was in downtown Honolulu.

  • Sleepless where did you see Johnny last week.

  • @missymoscato @1LSUredneck

I just met Johnny V last night in Honolulu.

Let me know if you want me to pass anything on to him.

  • Make sure you tell him Mia Moscato from Chicago. Pass on my info, and that is great that he got a job in Hawaii. Cannot believe he is still in that line of work. I haven't seen him in 13-14 years. Miss him so much.

  • @missymoscato will tell him that...im sure he will be glad to know that

  • @missymoscato Seen John about a month and a half ago for his last day in New Orleans. He got a gig working in Hawaii doing some offshore diving / topside tending. What got him going is he is staying at a jump site. That lucky bastard. Look how young he is in this video. John even told me before he left that he could not believe he has lived this long. LOL.....I had to agree with him. Great friend.

  • Anyone know where John is today, tell him Mia misses him!
