  • @TheCadetForce Civilian police officers do not salute the military or it's officers I can assure you he is saluting the flag only.

  • @grooverheliboy Infact, i see him saluting everybody but the bands. He holds the salute untill The Old Guard leaves. Then when 'The Blues & Royals' band leaves, he salutes again, but you see no colour just Officers and the guard.

  • @dorchtromb89 Well done noticing that. I missed it. Nice touch. Perhaps an ex squaddie himself and aware of the respect in which the colours are held.

  • @dorchtromb89 Saluting the Queens Colour only..

  • quite a few women in this detachment

  • did anyone notice the flute player in the new guard band was very short? either due to a lack of growth spurt or lack of years? Looking at this musician, I would guess an age of 14. If this musician is older than I think, I wonder how annoyed this person must get if they are constantly being asked for ID if buying booze. Must have the last laugh though when using their military ID.

  • @emptyangel I know, it is really odd. I wonder if it's a practicality thing or something. I'm assuming by ceremonial parade you mean Guard mounting and such. Maybe it's just simply a thing about keeping warm. Plus, I've yet to find a woman who likes American Tan tights =p. But I mean, parades and things, I've definitely seen fems in skirts. I had a picture of an officer cadet from the RMAS earlier I was trying to post but the link was too large. But she was in 1s and had a skirt..

  • @NatInAcid

Strange, then why have all women I've seen so far on ceremonial parade wear trousers?

  • @emptyangel Haha no, I'm well aware of what Regt they are and that women can be in the Army. I was mocking the ludicrousness of a female RSM. I've seen more than one female in skirts and you can find, on a number of websites that stock the new issue of Number 2 Dress, and Number 1 Dress as shown here for that matter, skirts for fems. It just seems that she was given trousers to "fit in" on this occasion.

  • @NatInAcid

IIRC, this is the Royal Logistic Corps, so there are women serving alongside men.

Also, women don't wear skirts, at least not any more; same reason why women police constables are now just simply constables and wear trousers as well.
