Supporters of Manuel Zelaya, the deposed president of Honduras, are defying an emergency decree issued by the interim government to clamp down on protests and the media.

Honduran troops on Monday shut down two broadcast outlets that have been critical of the interim government, hours after the country's de facto authorities issued a state of emergency restricting key civil liberties.

Zelaya, who was ousted exactly three months ago, has called on his supporters to march in Tegucigalpa, the Honduran capital. As the political crisis escalates, neither Zelaya nor the interim government has shown any sign of backing down.

Mariana Sanchez reports.
