Amritsar, located 32km from the Pakistani border, is where you will find the Golden Temple, the holiest shrine of Sikhism. We visited the temple, which happens to have some not-so-happy lessons in history, and later strolled about the city. Although we only spent 24 hrs in Amritsar, we ended up going to the temple 3 times as the sights are constantly changing in the different light and at night.

  • monkeetime: are you European? you display classic ignorance which is slowly becoming the symbol of people of European descent from the current times (includes American Whites and Aussies and the SA whites to a certain extent), the reason you know of these issues is because India has a free and open press. What happens to minorities in the west is all hushed up. If anything religious tensions are a lot worse in countries like Holland, France and even in parts of UK and US

  • @ankitait2 This is a series about India. When I am filming "Backpacking Belgium - Part 7: Bruges" then I will go on a long rant about social justice and crime. For now, we stay with Indian issues. Thanks for watching and being so sensitive.

  • @monkeetime no prob, love the response btw :)

I am just very tired of the west displaying India as a cultural flash point, when it is really not any worse than many of the other parts of the world. UCIRF blacklisting India for the reported lack of religious freedom just seems more like the pot calling the kettle black.

Maybe next time you can visit Wounded Knee Creek and post a long rant about it, or maybe I should ;)

  • @ankitait2 You obviously are new to the Monkeetime scene. I bitch and rant about people doing stupid shit EVERYWHERE I go. You just happened to find the India video first. OBVIOUSLY there are problems everywhere. Do you know why? Because people in general are half-wits, regardless of citizenship or skin colour.

  • @monkeetime Ah! I read the channel description a little too late I'm afraid, :( makes me feel like a douche. I must profess I posses a strong hatred of sanctimony though, and I see a lot of it online and irl(I am currently in the US), so I am slightly more prickly than an average joe.

I bow down and accept my error in haste of judgement

  • @ankitait2 Quit bowing, watch a video, and enjoy. You wrote, I explained. Friends? Goood...

"...there are problems everywhere. Do you know why? Because people in general are half-wits, regardless of citizenship or skin colour."

This is true to the point of paralyzing absurdity.
