How will we change the definition of hate crimes as the political landscape changes. People are assaulted and murdered for numerous reasons every day. This could just open up another loose reason to convict someone.
You are not a part of the mainstream populace, which makes you less effective as a representative.

well hate crimes are bad and should not happen, but this law is horrible. they pretty much limit your right to free speech.
