Not all, or in my opinion even most, of Africa's problems are due to the West. However, the fact is, the CIA and the Belgians quite literally put Mobutu in charge of Congo and helped him build his dictatorship. They preceded this by organizing the overthrow and murder of the democratically elected leader of Congo, Patrice Lumumba, because he had the audacity to tell them colonization was bad.

Mobutu était un grand homme et de dirigeant d'un pays a besoin d'un chef puissant. Laurent-Désiré Kabila était un homme insensé qui n'avait aucun contrôle sur son propre gouvernement. Zaïre n'a pas un peu améliorée depuis Mobutu a été renversé. Et il ne devrait s'améliorer avec le Fils veut Joseph dans le contrôle. Zaïre besoin d'un autre leader comme Mobutu.
