One of the most neglected works in the romantic violin repertoire, Korngold's Violin Sonata (composed for Karl Flesch and Artur Schnabel when Korngold was just 15) is a beautiful creation. Yet, although dozens of violinists perform Korngold's Violin Concerto, none feel moved to champion this work. This is the deeply felt Adagio, beautifully played by František Novotný, a fine Czech violinist who was born in Brno, city of korngold's birth, and who has done much to champion his music there, and in the Czech Republic.
