This group of protesters gathered outside the National Black Rodeo Show in Golden Gate Park's Bercut Field to protest rodeos and their alleged cruelty to animals culture.

Taking animals from their natural ways of life and tying them up, whiping them, beating them, forcing them to run until the can barely move, until they break their bones, and eventually die from exhaustion or a heart attack.

Oh yeah, theres nothing wrong with that. Rodeos are selfish ways of telling an animal that they are inequal by dominating them in what you would call games. The things you do iat rodeos are not games to the animals. They are scared and they are suffering. Its oppression.

You're right, they're not our toys, they're our livelyhood- which is EXACTLY why we put so much effort into taking care of them!

If you'd like to see how "rough" they have it maybe you should stop by our place. Unless you consider each horse being blanketed with shelter, dry bedding, and high quality feed "CRUEL" then I think you'll probably change your mind. Our roping calves are treated much the same. EDUCATE YOUSELF and stop pointing your ignorant little finger!

You people clearly have no idea how much effort we put into keeping our animals healthy and sound. If bothers me that you are so mis informed... Lets put it this way- we have 3 horses and our feed bill is more expensive than our grocery bill BECAUSE our horses eat the best feed money can buy. They get regular massages, chiropractic adjustments, are excercised daily, and they look forward to going to work.

When exactly have you seen this happen? I have been around ranching and rodeos my whole life and very few animals have I seen injured. Yes, the odd horse gets sore, and the odd calf get jerked down BUT what you obviously dont see is the endless hours we put in preventing such accidents from happening.

first of all none of my friends are 2,00 punds and calves and human children are different and what are talking about all of my horses love to run i rope calves and i raise the ones i rope and never hurt them me and my dad have a 26 year old horse that used to rope calves rope bulls in the pasture you dont know what it is like to be in rodeo or to live on a ranch so shut up

If what is done to animals in rodeos was done to a child or anybody else every day it would be considered abuse and you would be charged. But its fun when you do it to a horse or a bull because they arent human? Its ridiculous.
