Growing up around conflict, violence, HIV/AIDS or extreme poverty can take a heavy toll on a child's growth and development. Many children, especially the youngest, cannot articulate what they have experienced or are feeling. So their emotional needs are often under-estimated and ignored. Save the Children's "Healing and Education through Art" (HEART) program gives children the chance to express and work through their feelings and experiences so they are better able to cope and to recover
