  • thanks again to everyone for the kind comments. As far as cleaning, i wipe down the inside of the glass every few days and replace the water with fresh water every week, using RO water which is what I also use in the humidifier (fogger). Background is made of great stuff foam with the tubes for the various drip locations set up before applying the foam. There is a false bottom in the tank made with egg crate which creates an underground reservoir. where the pump is located to cycle the water.

  • Thanks for all the responses. The frogs were courting but no eggs that I have found. I think the trick to keeping the moss going is air flow in the tank. The back half of the top of the tank is screen. I have a computer fan laying on it and it comes in every few hours for 10 min. It pulls in fresh air from the bottom ventalation holes and cycles it through the tank.

  • awesome tank mine does not look as good as that one but im working on it. what type of plants are in there? were did you get you moss?

  • Thanks! There are various bromiliads, miniture wondering jew, piliea tears and various mosses. The ground cover on the left side is Riccia. It is also on the wood peices on the background. The moss on the right side is a type of pillow moss. I got the moss from a creek near my house and got the riccia online.

  • Very nice plant selection! Lovely use of water and concealed mechanics. I would be very careful of locally gathered products, I got a very persistent millipede infestation from local moss- not damaging, just annoying!

  • @fireball98768 No its a vivarium, a ballanced ecosystem. You have to clean terreriums, not vivariums. plus, vivariums are normaly for frogs.

  • black taco.

  • Hi sorry if this question has already been asked but roughly how much did this whole setup cost?

  • was that a taco bell comercial

  • very beautiful

  • how did you make the little pond area in the corner?

  • what are all of the plants that you used for this. This is the coolest tank i have ever seen
