Here is my own Do It Yourself ringflash.

I've build this one out of 65 white 5mm LEDS. The movie shows you 2 batteries attached, but later I attached a 3rd.

It's actually really easy to build. Just need to take some time for it.

Please let me know what you think of it.

  • Why are you calling this a "flash". Its Not. its a Light. 2 Very different things.

you'll never achieve the power of a traditional flash with this gizmo. don't get me wrong, i love that you used a cd-spindle in a creative way, and on a DSLR that takes Video, this could be very handy. but please stop calling it a "flash"

  • hey Iron man called he said he needed his chest piece back...? Wonder whats that about

  • @VicentiuB How do I fid that for 4$? I want ;)

  • superrr

  • you save 4$ shiped from Ebay ...

  • you said 2A driver?? how?? i saw the video clip there is no circuit...if 100 leds with 3 or 4 AA batteries what voltage of restorers in it? is that really work so far or am i wrong?

  • @airloo You can't 3 AA batteries in series can't output the 2A necessary to drive the 100 LED's in parallel, so the effective voltage when the circuit is on is much lower than 3.6V.

  • @Roh1290 He's driving all the LED's in parallel, however the batteries can't output enough current to damage the LED's and that also means that the LED's are not being driven to rated max voltage. If he had connected the LED's to a power supply capable of more than 2A he's LED's would have burnt.

  • 1. I saw the video.

    2. I went to Ebay.

    3. I bought 400 LEDs.

    4. Im making the holes on my CD case.

    All in 4 minutes.

  • CD cases are awesome for all sorts of things, I'm making a beauty dish at the moment using a CD case like the one your using. think I will make this my next project. Thanks man :o)

  • @PhotoJoe2001 Please stop being such a technical boob.

  • @localbkk

    Thanks for the advice
