A trailer for Dirge. I think I'll be filming for anther 2-3 weeks, maybe 3-4 as I'm not sure about filming straight away when we return after half-term. It could be longer, depending on whether or not I get all I want done or want to improve it, but it could also be shorter if I get an opportunity to film on more than one night a week for an hour. Which is a ridiculous amount of time to film. We've got 18 and a half minutes so far, so it'll be over 20 once done.

Sorry about the stupid colouring for some of it - I was messing around with keying effects on the trailer and couldn't be bothered to go back and replace the clips. Some of the film is keyed green/blue screen, mainly just to bring out the redness of the blood and make it look cooler.

Something quite interesting that I found was if you green AND blue screen some scenes, it turns most of the colour black but brings our white and red - kinda like the effect used in Sin City. It only really works in the opening scene in Dirge, but it still looks good. It's not in the film though.

  • Hey there, Just after viewing this video, it particularly made me think to myself. Movie trailers overall are built to anticipate you for a movie. This, on the other hand, was just vile. First, zombies are NOT dead people who came back to life. In order to turn, you must be living and then somehow get infected by the virus. If you ever hope to get profit off of said video, I would suggest molding this film into firewood, selling it, where it will be burned.

    thanks.

  • *Ahem*. "A zombie is a reanimated human corpse." - Wikipedia. Traditionally, zombies come back to life through super natural means, not viruses. It's all open to interpretation, or how you want your zombies to be. Some people's zombies run, while other's shamble. There is no right or wrong in works of fiction like that. And, as Dirge was a tribute to the Romero films were zombies ARE dead beings coming back to life, it's only right that I do the same. Please turn left and go to hell ^_^

  • P.S. I actually did make a profit with this film through distribution on DVD. The price of firewood had plummeted in the recent economic climate so I thought it would be best to sell the actual film instead of it molded into firewood.

  • nice! looking good! im also making a horror film, take a look at the trailer and tell me what you think.
