Just as awesome is flying in one across the Atlantic and having to land short of your destination due to a crack in the cockpit windshield.

that is one of the loudest planes I've ever heard in my life not including a fighter or a bomber.
hell even with a fighter or a bomber. you can only hear a fighter
or bomber when they're close to you. you can hear this monster plane from over a mile away. :)

Awesome Plane!!....I used to see the C-5 every year when my dad was in the Air Force when I was a kid....Its always been my favorite!!

I've seen the C-5 in action at a local air show many years ago. The size of the airplane is impressive. But the sound of its engines is unforgettable.
