This is the one of a few recordings that was made in what was called split stereo, where one mic was used for certain sounds and the other mic was for secondary sounds.. more like front and rear on a QUAD recorder.. It sounds real good!! If this recording was a pressed copy (LP) It would be both stereo and mono playback compatable.

A lot of Brook's early recordings suffered from bad stereo. A real shame and dis-service to the man.

@johnmorris008 John this song was recorded in split stereo ,where the vocals are only on one channel ,if you happen to be listening in mono , you may only be listening to the track with no (or very low) vocals on it .
