FCE Tutorial - Speeding Up / Slowing Down & Reversing Clips

So, basically this video is in 1080p. I don't know how or why but watch it in full HD! Sorry about the quality. HD camcorder is 1080 + screencast that was exported in 720 = stretched to 1080 so its not very great. My bad.

When I used log and transfer, I still had to render my clips, is there another step I'm missing?

@SocialMacbook You need to render the clips when you speed it up / slow it down

When you use the "log and transfer", do you have your camera connected through USB or Firewire? I am getting a Canon Vixia in the next week or so and I was wondering what I would need for my Final Cut Pro. Anything to cut down on rendering time is awesome!
