Wenn der weiße Flieder wieder blüht (When The White Lilacs Bloom Again) Slow-fox aus der Revue "Donnerwetter 1000 Frauen" (Damn It, A Thousand Women!) (Musik: Franz Doelle, Text Fritz Rotter) - Odeon Tanz-Orchester (Dajos Béla), ) Odeon 1928 (Germany)

NOTE: Various first-classs dance orchestras, from Dajos Béla to Otto Dobrindt's Saxophon Band were hiding under the name of "Odeon Tanz-Orchester". I have no doubt, however, this lovely spring tune is played here by Dajos Béla's ensamble. In this rendition it is the banjo that makes the whole arrangement. And in Berlin of the late 1920 who else but Mike Danzi - Dajos Béla's great banjoist - could give such a banjo show like this?

Das Arrangement von Herrn von Geczy ist zwar um einiges fantasievoller, aber hier bleibt uns zumindest eine missglückte Pseudo-Improvisation des Kapellmeisters erspart ;-) - tolle Platte, auf jeden Fall!
