Starr of course came from a military family, I think that's what made the combination of him and Lombardi perfect.

@dirac33 Rodgers has had one amazing post season qb rating which was higher than Starr's but he hasn't been in as many post seasons as has Starr. And it'll be the most amazing thing in NFL history if he can keep this up. And I completely agree with you re: Matt Ryan! He's a throwback to that era.

@ripperduck Matt Ryan is sort of a Starr throwback. I expect he'll also end up with a ring or two. Rodgers is too flashy to last long (but man he's on a roll as of now!)

Bart Starr has the highest qb post season rating in NFL history, 104. Next comes Warner at 102, and Montana is next at 94. Bart Starr was the best playing against the best. None of the current qb's come close to Starr. IMO that makes Starr the best qb ever. He did all this against the best teams of that era. When u play your best against the best, that makes you the best....
