The recent spate of attacks on women has prompted the Inner West Courier to enlist a professional to offer practical advice to women to protect themselves against an attacker.
Keyvan Mirzai has owned the Family Self Defence Academy in Five Dock for eight years, training people of all ages and backgrounds in han mu do, a Korean style of martial arts that focuses on using the opponents power against them.
He trains women in the art of self-defence and said he tries to teach his students to defend themselves within the first three seconds of an attack.
Watch some easy quick self defence moves that could help you out.

Not 100% what I would have done, but glad to see an instructor not telling the student to drop into a fighting stance at the first sign of danger. You need to keep the element of surprise.
