Wellington Rag by Clive Harvey

Ukulele instrumental in a ragtime format. I wrote it in Wellington, New Zealand, in July 2009 and that's where the title comes from. In November that year I did a gig at the Brooklands Museum of Motoring & Aviation in Weybridge, Surrey, where they have a genuine Wellington bomber undergoing restoration in a hangar. I couldn't ignore the chance to play the tune standing by the plane, as seen in the video. Shame I wasn't wearing wellington boots, I suppose! A few minutes late I moved outside to where they've got a Concorde. I played the tune again (temporarily renaming it Concorde Rag) standing underneath it. The acoustics there were great. The underside of that magnificent white beast acted like a huge sounding board and carried the sound of my little blue uke all over the site.

When I say 'play like this' I mean 'approaching this'. Clive is an excellent teacher but you won't be as good as him after only a year.
