Part of the 11 p.m. newscast from WTVD/Durham, covering the crash of American Eagle 3379 near Raleigh-Durham International Airport. From Wikipedia:
"On December 13, 1994, American Eagle Flight 3379 operated by AMR's regional airline Flagship Airlines, a Jetstream 31 was on a regularly scheduled service of Raleigh-Greensboro-Raleigh when it crashed into a wooded area about 4 miles (6.4 km) SW of the airport, in the vicinity of Morrisville, NC. Of the 20 onboard (18 passengers and 2 crewmembers) 15 were killed while the 5 survivors received serious injuries. The probable cause of the crash was the pilot not following proper procedure when it came to an engine failure situation."

I grew up around Fayetteville (army brat) and WTVD was our choice for local news. It was at least always the best looking and produced. This is giving me some serious flashbacks it's surreal.

The day b4 this video aired on WTVD 11, was my mother's 36th birthday! It's sad that plane tragedy happend, i was 9 years old so i really don't remember the clip. I thank you for placing this WTVD 11 clip on youtube. It means a lot to me. I'm go to college out of state, so seeing WTVD back in the 1990's makes my homesickness go away. BILL REH was on WTVD back then, I believe he's on NBC17 currently as the weather man. God I love the old computer graphics for the weather. THX 4 putting this up!
