  • Well, the necks on 000 Clapton signature guitars all have a "modified v" profile, and a nut width of 1 3/4". That is slightly wider than the regular 000-28, which has 1 11/16" nutwidth. All of them have the same scale-length, 24 3/4". So, for a small-body guitar, you should probably check out a standard 000 to get a slightly smaller neck. I have great experience with the newest Guild guitars as well (last years production). T

  • @UtzChips2009 Best place bar none to buy a Martin is at MFD in Florida, Jon & his Wife will give you the best price. I paid $2000 for my Martin HD-28 and it shipped free of course.

  • excellent review, no preconceptions, tells you everything you need to know about the guitar in 1 minute 20 seconds. And without any of the "Blooz" licks.

  • If you go to MelodeeMusic in Leesburg VA, don't believe anything he says. He'll say whatever will get you buy inventory that isn't moving if he thinks he can fool you. I have short fingers & he convinced me that a wider neck is easier to play with short fingers & I spent 2 hrs there & ended up spending over a grand on a Martin that has the widest neck they make.

  • hey was just wondering, whats the neck size on that one? would say its smaller than a gibson hummingbird? because ive got a hummingbird and ive got short stubby fingers, and my god it is just tiring to play, and ive been trying out martins, and found they are more to my liking, but i tried out the john mayer one, and it sounded so beautiful and rich, but its neck was fat, almost gibson like, and ive never held this one, some info would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

  • mind if i have that old guitar you have wedged between two cases? :D

    great review by the way

  • @vinciarmy01 you lose some fretboard comfort though

  • @jimmythefish I stand corrected. Since my first post on this I have purchased a 000-28EC and have to put my foot in my mouth, the back is in fact bookmatched. My bad.

  • @fulcher33 Actually it is bookmatched. Look again at second 20. There is a slight difference left to right, they should have cut about 1/3" more from the treble half. The real let-down with this back is that is flatsawn; that is basically OK (although i cringe seeing it in very expensive guitars) but quartersawn wood is more stable when humidity swings. However it is expensive and rare with Madagascar rosewood.

  • the guitar is great ! the player is a comedian! LOL !
