  • my bone stock sr20det 7 lbs with the side mount and everything ran 13.8. Those times are way to slow. Its probably that auto trans? I love the 2jz though. My fav 6 cyl. sr20 fav 4 cyl

  • That was with a believe a 2.7 60ft. What was yours? lol Ya it was just the slow launch, plus that was only like 330whp. The car does low 11s now on pump gas so it's no biggie. I used to have an SR with a GT2540R turbo, I like SRs they are cool. I just wanted more power. These runs are also 2800ft elevation. The car is crazy fast now, this video was like 3 years ago.

  • What transmission are you using and how did you get it in?

  • @BPGlassinc cool thanks for the info man

  • It depends where you live I guess. In america without a doubt ls engines are MUCH cheaper to work on. Parts are everywhere. There's people that made 700hp+ (625whp) with a stock long block from the junkyard and turbo.

  • But...you can make 500hp with heads/cam and headers on ls engines.

  • @sofargone561 It really depends on what you want. For my money a V8 in a car that should have a turbo 4 (import) just isnt my style. I like a boosted engine, but I still wanted to run with the big boys (and beat them) so I went 2jz with a TH400 and big turbo, nitrous, transbrake, etc. But if you are just looking for a quick car the LS1 will do it too. Your budget is a big deal too. A ls1 isnt as cheap to work on as people act like, I had a LS6 vette too look at the other vids. I'm hqen2000 btw

  • Respond to this video... A 2jz with just a boost controller, intake and exhaust can do well in the 400whp range. With just a turbo and injectors you can do 600whp. You can't do all that with a LS1 on the cheap. But honestly a big turbo small engine gets old. I sold this car and now I have a 2011 Mustang GT. 450hp and I couldnt be happier. It's not as fast as the 240 was, but nobody races anymore anyway.

  • @Shakejunt727 You are right, it was with a broken transmission, it shifted very low barely on any boost. There was no launch at all really.

  • @SICKJ0KE Getting a LS1 to 1000hp isn't easy or cheap. Plus, at that point it's not going to be a drivable car. My 2jz in the 240 eventually got to make over 500whp on pump gas, and 600+whp with a 100shot. This is all on a stock bottom, just with injectors, safc, and a turbo. Those numbers are much more expensive with an LS1. But to each his own, they're both good motors. 2JZ will be 'faster' but I could easily see the LS1 being more fun. The lag with my big single was incredible.

  • @Born2BuBalla1 ok hang on im gonna run 8;s in my honda first

  • @hqen2000 so would you say 2jz over ls1? i plan on doin one of these swaps and im either doin 2j or ls1, the ls1 will be high hp number and quicker times right off the bat but in the long run the 2jz would be better imo not to mention boost is just so much fun but at the same time ls1s are easier to maintain and work on what would u say?
