  • Great example of CSX brilliance at the time....4 axle locomotives on a coal train. This would never be seen on a NS train!

  • the best 4 axle engine is an emd sw9

  • I think they are beginning to. I read somewhere, Trains Mag. I think, where NS purchased AC powered locos.

  • I know. I remember in an effort to save fuel CSX would use one locomotive on trains and then stall on the grades. That sure saved money.

    But the advent of AC power really helped CSX and many other railroads.
