I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS MOVIE, I have not seen it in years, my great-aunt showed it to me when I was little and I have loved it ever since.....my sincerest thanks for uploading it.....means so much to me to finally see it again.
I didn't think I would actually find this movie. But, fortunately for me, YouTube never ceases to be a wellspring of video nightmares from my childhood. Thanks for uploading! I....mean it. :\
This movie was made back in the great days of The Childrens Theater before Donohue got into trouble. Coincidentally, those were the great years of the Guthrie Theater and Minneapolis/St Paul was one hot theater locale. We had the highest number of theaters in the world per population. There was creativity oozing out of the not only the stage but also the advertising business. I recall covering it all as a journalist. BTW the creator's name is spelled Andersen, NOT Anderson. Please change?
Hans Christian Anderson is the most under-rated author of all time! He wrote so many classics that the populace now only recognizes through Disney. "Thumbelina" (which he originally wrote as "Thumbelisa") and even the huge classic "The Little Mermaid" were all derived from HC Anderson. Even without the Disney Christian coating, HCA's tales have proven instrumental in communicating morale to younger children.
This is a classic movie from when I was young. I love creepy children's shows lol and the best ones where shown when i was young like Return to Oz and this. I will say though that watching it again, the punishment for the crime she commits is a bit much. But it does scare the young girl out of being a bitch lol
Wasn't there a Beauty and the Beast version by the same company as this one? I used to watch this as a kid and trying to find the other. It's driving me nuts!
