Robert Kirkland & The Hanks - The Fight Is Starting

Robert Kirkland (Arrogance) and The Hanks - This video is from March 25, 1988 at The Brewery in Raleigh NC. The Hanks played with Robert most of 1988 and into 1989 in support of "Kick The Future," Robert's solo LP. The Hanks are Ron Bartholomew (guitar, vocals), Jeff Hart (guitar, vocals), Jim Piver (bass) and Herbie Saint (drums). The Hanks current lineup includes Steve Webster (bass).

There are a couple of sound issues on this recording - when the drums first come in and - most notably, at about the 1:34 mark. The soundboard tape drops out for roughly 25 seconds and what you hear after that is from the VHS camera condensor mic. The mix wasn't ever intended for the recording- only the live show, so the guitars and vocals are also hard to hear on the tape. This was also the first song of the night so the mix gets better toward the latter part of the song.
