The little USB mic you won't want to be without...

Much smaller than your laptops power supply - the GoMic is ready for travel.

With a built-in zero-latency headphone amp along with omni and cardioid electret elements, the GoMic gives a lot of bang for the buck. It won't replace a studio microphone, but it will deliver surprisingly good results as a substitute for your laptops built-in mic.

Keep in mind that I purposely left levels as-is. Normally, a USB mic will require normalization and processing on the back end. Keeping levels conservative ensures you won't flat-top during recording.

  • Great Review! But much interesting is the REAL setup you use. I mean The great darkgrey studiomic and all the equipment. Can you please tell me more about your setup? Which mic, preamp, channelstrip or comressor eq whatever. From In to Output. Because it sounds pretty well recorded =)

    Many thanks!

  • @micromantismusic Thanks for the comment

This was recorded 'dry', since it's a USB device. Our processing chain for pro XLR mics ONLY, include Aphex 230s and an Aphex 2020MkIII. ...for this video, all processing was bypassed and the mic was plugged directly into USB.

    A few things to consider:

    * The recording was done in a sound dampened studio

    * I did record low (about -12db) and then normalized to avoid clipping

These things aside, no processing, eq or altering was done.

  • Thanks for this review. I think I am going to get one of these to do interviews on the run. This is one of the best reviews on this I have seen.

  • @jcurtman

Thank you. We hope you enjoy the videos ...and the audio shows on NewMediaGear.

  • Do you have an Auto-Tune on your voice?

  • @PurBakVideo2

No auto-tune used in any of our production. ...mostly because we don't have one in the studio.
