  • why is the bell made separately from the "bell tail"?

  • @jonowonoponosono The bell has to be shaped and molded into a bell. The "bell tail" is a standard sized pipe that is widened to be able to fit onto the bell. I don't know if all trumpet manufacturers do this, but this was the King factory's method.

  • actually I think that This is the Bach Trumpet factory because my brother who plays the trumpet went there a few years ago with his college trumpet proffessor.

  • @cassiemom No, it's the King factory. It said that at the end of the episode in the credits. I taped this entire episode on a VCR tape. This episode originally aired in 1986.

  • Most student or mid-line trumpets are made with the 2 piece bell system, most pro horns (including Bach, Benge, Calicchio, Getzen, Schilke & Yamaha) are made w one piece bells (Schilke bells are seamless). The 1 piece bell is preferred by pro's as a 2 piece bell is easier to make it adds too much playing resistance. This is still cool for kids to see "how it's done!"

  • Mr. Rodgers is the coolest guy in the world... :)

  • mr. rogers, the original how it's made.
