Fidel Castro Resigns as Cuban President
Fidel Castro announced today he is resigning as Cuban president, ending forty-nine years in office. In a statement, the eighty-one-year-old Castro wrote, "It would betray my conscience to take up a responsibility that requires mobility and total devotion, that I am not in a physical condition to offer."
