  • So you're singing thru an M1 and recording it on your video camera mic? Hardly a demo of the M1. You must do the soundtrack as directly as possible onto the audio track, and never by way of another microphone. Also, to demo a mic properly, use no vocal effects.

  • @wtw88 Really? I have another idea... how about I demo the mic the way its actually intended to be used, in a live application? BTW, this is not a "soundtrack", its not music for a movie... You suggestion is fine, but that is not the kind of "demo" I wanted to produce. I want to show what the mic sounds like in a real, live setting.

  • @roblunte I meant "soundtrack" as the sound track for the video. If it's not "sound" it's audio. I should have used two words. Anyway, that's not important. The guts of what I wrote is this: do not record a mic through another mic as a demonstration of what the first mic sounds like. Stick to that principle and you are unlikely to go wrong.

  • @wtw88 The point of this demonstration is not to analyze wave signatures and frequency details in a lab. This is a LIVE mic, and RODE Microphones and its customers care about its use in a LIVE application. Mapping the frequency and lab tech characteristics is not the only issue of interest to the market of singers that this product was developed for. So, your suggesting that I record straight to the track, when singing live? That would be a recording application, not a live application.

  • Thanks John, I appreciate it. I wish the audio was a bit better on this recording. It was filmed just before RODE sent me their A/V mic for video cameras. All TVS videos after this, sounded a lot better... but the performance is decent and interesting enough, so I have chose to leave it up. Soon, there will be some more. I love the EV 767a as well. Mostly, its because it has a big diaphram, more boomy proximity. However, the RODE M1 is for a different, more rowdy, application. They are both top!

  • can anyone shout out ev767a vs sm58/beta58 vs rode m1 ?

  • @darkdark123 Different mics, for different applications... but to be sure, both the RODE M1 and the EV 767a are better then the SHURE SM58.

  • song is killer. i want to know, what is the group which compose this song?

  • song is killer.

  • i swear by the EV 767A Wireless unit. Amazing live mic. Haven't tried the Rode M1, but would like to try. Has a nice warm sound. having Robert sing through it doesn't hurt either! :^) Tune rocks!

  • whats the name of this song??? who's the artist??? Thanks!

  • Go get an EV pl80 forget shure they have been left behind and rip artists off everyday because they are still riding on recomendation from their 70's & 80's products which had a quality far higher than what they produce today
