@Jai9100 I know that Carell was a big shot with the Daily Show crowd and Seth was a respectably famous for Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared but to general masses they were both large unknown until this movie came out!

This scene totally paid for Steve Carrell because it's the flagship scene of the 40 yr. old Virgin, which in turn was the flagship movie for Judd Apatow and it thrust Steve Carell, Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen into the big time stratosphere.
His sacrafice paid off.
