As long as there is a genuine need for the meds it is ok. The important thing is recognizing when that need is over. I noticed I was developing a tolerance for them. That is when I started getting worried. You had it right when you said "double edged sword". Don't worry though I am safe.
Broke your ankle eh. How long where you one legged? It's a lot harder to have one leg than one might think. I couldn't even sit at my computer till a couple days ago.
Oh man! I am so thinking about you. Rest easy. Pain meds are a double edge sword. They will effect your reality after you quit taking them. When i broke my ankle at age 34, I was on serious pain meds x10 days. When i quit taking them, I went on a gambling spree that messed me up worse than a broke ankle. You have loved ones wichew so you are okay. Remember: when you come off the pain meds you'll experience feelings you are unfamiliar with.
