Runs a lot better now, I completely tightened the nut now and the noise is still there, but it deifinately is the blade.

@TheCoolmaster100 I just use regular 3 In 1 oil. But a lot of these fans have long since died. The only fan which is still going is the Tatung.

The draper box fan looks very similar to my Heller brand box fan. Mine is silver with a chrome strip on top of the frame & the knob in the center of the grill is chrome . I bought is new in December 2007. What oil do you use in your fans?.

It stopped now, it just needed to be broken in.

I don't know what to say about the rattling noise of the fan, but it's good thing to have a reason to use it.
