You took me into the forest
I liked you right away
Your eyes were like cherries
Your skin was like clay
You showed me your hands
Your nails were not clean
But your hair it was jellied
In the moonlight it gleamed
I was your girl
I had no fear
Till you took my sugar
And left me tears
You lay under the aspen
You put your hand in mine
I wanted to smile
But your grip was unkind
I was a girl
I had no fear
Till you took my sugar
And left me tears
I've always loved this song, but maybe it was ahead of its time. If this song came out today, it would sound like something out of the multiple vampire based stories on tv and the big screen

@HazelTibbits ---I can see it being marketed this way....but firstly, it's way too groovy to just slide in with that stuff. Most cases with that stuff the rhythm is fairly homogenous and rock based. While this is driven with funky breaks more akin to a 70s Lalo Schiffrin score for a heist movie.

This is such a great song.
It's strange to think about the content, I think it is about her getting raped.
I love the remix even more, but mine is messed up on my CD.

yeah... it seems to be about a date rape. The contrast from the first track, "Garden of April", which sounds ike an opening theme for a childrens show and then "Sugar" is next , totally sounding like a 70s cop show theme composed by Lalo Schifrin.
