I just love movie trailers so I thought it might be fun to try and mimic the look and feel of an action movie trailer. I did this purely for my own enjoyment!

Here's the original description (but i think the joke went over people's heads)

Exclusive first glimpse of the highly anticipated blockbuster of the summer, "Meter" takes you on a high speed thrill ride across the city. Everything is at stake as one man races toward his destiny of not getting a parking ticket.

  • Cool. I'm always strapped for time for my school projects, so trailers are a fun way to get the point across and focus on as many money shots as possible :)

I'm interested: what camera were you using?

  • It's the Sony HVR-V1U. I LOVE it! I also love the Z1U, but I like my little guy better.

  • Absolutely Brilliant.

    What camera did you use?

  • Thanks! Sony HVR-V1U

  • It's amazing you can take something boring like parking meters and hipe it up and make something exciting out of it.

  • Is this M. Night Shyamalan? If so, the man is a meter and the woman is an alien dressed as a monster, and it is really the 1800s.

  • awesome video but what is that metal song you played

that song was badassness sprinkles on a cake fuckin amazingness

  • God I love that camera movement at 00:14

  • Yay muse

  • best catch phrase ever

  • Man, you really know your cinematography! Nice DP and editing work.

  • That's exactly what I got out of it, so you succeeded as far as I'm concerned. That's what I like about this, actually. You took a completely ridiculous concept for a movie and made a completely badass trailer for it. Which I think is awesome. So, good job.

  • Well I'm glad I sparked some debate! I think you both have good points. I agree that a good trailer should draw you in and make you want to see the full story for sure. But part of the joke of this one (maybe I failed at this) was that the story of the fake movie is SO stupid, how could it possibly be a full movie, and so once you've seen the trailer, what else is there? But it certainly isn't supposed to go anywhere. Just be fun and silly and hint at an absolutely plot-less Hollywood movie. :)

  • I get where you're coming from, and I totally agree. But I think that here, it seemed effective the way he did it. But that's just my opinion, and I'm totally not trying to argue against yours
