my knee goes forward too much if i try to do them without holding onto the fence.i have big bony pointy knees and my ankles are skinny i guess.my feet are huge though.i'm just not structurally set up to do them this way.not everyone is,plus,i am no lightweight!
i get good range of motion doing em my way.i go into knee lockout with every completed rep.you cant tell because i'm leaning back so much in order to put my body into favorable positioning to take stress off my knee.
