as the name says,i just show u a basic import export bwteen maya and motionbuilder.with mayn per build mocap files,motion builder makes animation a simple task

  • I'm using the Brekel Kinect Mod and I am able to import my character in from maya no problem, but the issue is that I have no idea how record works. Any tutorials/information you can point me too? I try to record data, but when I playback, all I get is the still frame of my model and the skeleton in the T-Pose. Thanks!

    2ndly , i am not very sure about the kinect mod(since i have never used/tried it) sorry.

    u could search for mo cap using kinect to get some info..sorry i cannot be of much assistance here.

    No worries, I figured out that I wasn't pressing "play" after hitting 'record". Stupid Motion Builder. The problem I'm having now is that Motion Builder is that key frames are laid down on my control rig, but not to my own character's rig, so when I import into Maya, nothing happens.

    Brekel's worked great - my animations look pretty good in motion builder. But using MotionBuilder itself has been one nightmare after another

  • @peaseapea humm..that is because u have not plotted the character on the rig, see

    1:00 of the video.

    after loading the animation, you will have to plot the animation on your rig,if you miss this step the character will not animate in maya.
