Craig Ward speaking at OFFF 2010 in Paris.
The three-day festival showcases top digital artists, web, print and interactive designers, motion graphics studios, and new music adventurous. OFFF festival provides insight into all culture media platforms.
In this presentation, Craig Ward discusses his continuing education in typography while tracing his evolution from designer to typographer to story teller. He also shares the inspiration, methods and workings behind his more well-known works, as well as more unseen and obscure pieces.
Originally hailing from the rural steppes of deepest Lincolnshire in the North East of England, Craig Ward is now a New York based designer and typographer for Grey. Having graduated in 2003 and occasionally trading under the pseudonym Words are Pictures, he brings life to headlines, creates new typographic treatments and continuously explores the notion of word as image. He also works in a variety of media from letterpress and linocut through to the purely digital and three dimensional and previous clients have included the likes of The New York Times, BMW, Ebay, The Guardian, The Economist and a variety of publishers.
