at 6:17 that is using 'dummy' tiles that look exactly like the real tiles, eg: tiles 1F0; 1E6; 1E7; and 1E8.

the OW glitch usually happens when you dont uninstall the controller recording asm data from the ROM

This hack looks generally promising, although the fact the level themes seem to have gotten in the habit of being based on the original game's levels makes me sorta fear this could end up being a cookie cut hack. (in that it could end up like most hacks with the default overworld and end up following the original level themes to the letter). But nice video anyway, and hope to see more videos.
