I gathered this charming video of a Chipping Sparrow giving trilled songs at Land Between the Lakes, Kentucky. The singer is perched on a steel cable fence next to a parking lot. Another Chipping Sparrow is singing in the background, along with a Yellow-throated Vireo and a Northern Parula.
The Chipping Sparrow is a handsome bird, sporting varied earthy tones and a chestnut-colored cap.

when I was a young boy, I would sleep out in the backyard at night, up all night watching the stars , and I would often hear a "chip" sound coming from above in the sky, I never knew what kind of bird it was, until i heard recordings of birds that call at night in the summer,,it was a chipping sparrow all along. Thanks

I have about 7 of these feeding off my bird feeder along with 4 black capped chickadee's, 4 song sparrow's, 6 darkeyed junco's, over 10 brewers blackbirds, and i've only seen 1 evening grosbeak so far! I will be putting videos of them up shortly but for now i'm taking still pictures. I love all the bird calls!

Thanks for uploading! I have two Chipping Sparrows who have lived in my yard, here in Marion County Kentucky, for the last three years. They always leave in the Winter and come back in Spring. They should be here any day now.
