This is a video I made about the band Salem, due to people's ignorance about the Israeli Metal scene claiming that it is "absurd" that Israelis and Jews make Black Metal and claiming that the Israeli Metal scene is "copying the European scene"
here is what Yishai shwartz the head of Raven music explained about this band:
Yishai Sweartz So, this is how it all began...
This is the first BlackDeath demo from Israel that gained international success, and for a good reason. This is a true underground classic !!!
Recorded live at the Roxan club in Tel-Aviv in 1990, this demo is a summary of Salem's early years (1985-1990), some of the songs here apeared on the previous demos (and written by the previous line-up).
This is raw, dark, grim and bloodfreezing blackdeath metal, like it was meant to be. Influenced by the likes of Bathory, Mayhem, Sodom , Messiah , Hellhammer, Slayer etc., all the songs here are very powerfull and heavy,
Some of the riffs will remind you alot of Norwegian Black metal - Except for ther fact that this was written and recorded BEFORE any of the norwegian bands released an album. Anyway, this early effort already shows Salem's unique touches : the incredibly harsh vocals (think of Quorthon meets Totmentor-era Atilla, but harsher...) the raw guitarsound, the sick guitareleads... See More
and the excellent drumming by Amir Neubach (who was only 16 years old at the time, and joined the band shortly before the demo was recorded), as well as the mid-eastern riffing in songs like 'Old Wounds' and 'Emotional Demands', something that was totaly new at the time (Years before Orphaned land and Melechesh formed).
The only weakness are the pourly-written lyrics, which cover social and political issues (mostly from a rightwing point of view, yet Anti-Nazi).
Such lyrics are unusual for such a band, and don't exactly fit this genre, but the great music more than makes up for this minor flaw.
No wander Salem were held in high regard by such legendery figures as Euronymous and Dead (who can be seen wearing a Salem T-shirt on Mayhem's 'The Black Emperors' bootleg album.
This demo gained Salem a deal with the german label Morbid Records,
and was included as a bonus on the 'Creating Our Sins' cd, which is due to be Remastered and Re-released by the Israeli Label Raven Music in 2005.
the song here is "millions slaughtered" from the album "Creating our sins"
year of the album:1992
year of the song:1990
Lyrics:
There were wars over the years
Lots of people died
Lots of people got wounded
Lots of people got crazy
Many people lost
Their homes and families
But only one war was called
The Holocaust
There was a madman
His name was hitler
He carried after him a big nation
to become nazis
His soldiers almost murdered
a whole nation
Millions starved to death
And were murdered after torture
Scientists made their experiments
On the Jewish bodies
While they were still alive
The victims will never forget
The horror they''ve been through
Nowdays the nazi party is growing
Stop them before it''s tool late !
it's okay with salem being a badass BM band (in the beginning at least) and they were a freat ispiration for modern extreme music both with hellhammer, sarcofago, mayhem mercyful fate venom etc..but the evil music shall be supported by evil lyrics, not by lyriks speaking about jewish victimism, and so on. great band though

@JimmyLaVey I have to agree with that in some point..
But you can also check for a band named "acheron gates"
They started in 1989 in Haifa,Israel the music is fucking cult and sounds good.
And the lyrics deal with occult satanism and even facism
