Who hasn't woken up with a stiff neck and had it go away the next day? Bit of a stretch to claim cracking her neck helped cure it.

@xfadetoblack You're right in a way.. If this was pure muscle spasm it can resolve itself. If there is nothing wrong with the vertebral joint, we cannot adjust it. This patient however had a history of a cervical disc bulge at this level. The muscle spasm was only one part of her symptom picture and it was caused by the nerve irritation caused by the disc bulge related to the vertebral dysfunction. Thanks, Dr Ian

I have the exact same problem right now...the pain is on my right side of my neck and shoulder and im having difficulty moving the right arm as well..woke up this way about a week ago..2 days ago i started to feel better and went to bed..woke up in pain again...Dr Ian...should i be putting ice or heat on my neck and shoulder?

@dida079 Hi again :) definitely ice! You need to help get the inflammation out of the nerves coming from your neck. Also walk and swing your arms a bit more than usual too to help push some fluid out. Good luck and best wishes, Dr Ian

Hi Youtubers, Sorry for the delay in getting back to your questions, the practice has been flat out lately and then I am leaving to teach in Europe end of this week. Will get to your questions as soon as I can. Thanks so much for your support. All the best in health and happiness, Dr. Ian.
