PLEASE READ THIS...
I can remember when a movie being filmed in Michigan and Detroit was a big deal that EVERYONE talked about. Movies like "Presumed Innocent", "Rosary Murders", and "Hoffa" not to mention "Beverly Hills Cop", "8 Mile" and "Die Hard 2". The local theaters were filled with moviegoers who applauded every time a local landmark was shown. There was a sense of not only civic pride but POSITIVE CIVIC PRIDE. Something very rare for Detroit and Michigan.
The Michigan Film Tax Incentive offers tax rebates for movies and television productions that are filmed in Michigan. Since it went into effect, we have the beginnings of a new industry here that has been a source of MONEY, OPPORTUNITY and badly needed JOBS. Governor Rick Snyder and the state legislature have proposed cutting the tax incentive back. As a result, a lot of planned, BIG BUDGET projects are in jeopardy as are the professional opportunities that come with them. Please take a moment and watch this video and then contact Governor Snyder and tell him to SAVE THE MICHIGAN FILM TAX CREDIT.
