It's funny how, in slowed down, practice techniques, this does'nt look real or possible.
But i did Aikido when i was 15 and when done in actual comp fights...it works very very well.

@rockstarr469 right....

The teacher teaches his students the techniques and tell the students not to hurt his attacker(s), but it is up to the students. Some of them learn martial arts to go pick fights and hurt people. If you use Aikido techniques to hurt your attacker that means you used it wrong. The founder was a spiritual man and very good in many martial arts including judo, jujitsu, sword, spear, etc...He had compassion for people that's why he came up with Aikido as a truly soft art if done right.

...and then u kick em in the face BLAM!

"""oH, and never mind the fact that he is in on this""" Most of this works, but when you arent trained at it, it easily fails.

works best with one armed opponents

@Nathanroqs yeah... I would like to train more self defense in kyo...
-
@armagibson It can, but its better if you know another martial art as well since it's not a punching martial art.

@yodaddyxx good to know, good to know! :) peace.
totally agree with kainthornn...
it's the fighter that makes the greatest difference...not the martial art

Yepp, and then the Krav Maga practitioner would walk away with a broken wrist. Aikido is meant to NOT injure the enemy... but can indeed be very painful.
