Another World Remake Playthrough (Part 03)

You know you can destroy enemy laser barriers with your big gun charge? Also a small tip (used to play this a lot..still one of my faves) Make a shield when you you kneel then when you stand up.. your gun will protrude from your shield..at which point you charge your gun for a large burst then immediately fire away small lasers..works pretty well at dispatching the baddies quickly while keeping you safe. Repeat the kneel ->shield -> stand -> charge burst -> rapid laser fire as needed.

I know that the large burst can immediately destroy shields, but that isn't helpful if they happen to be in the process of making another shield of have multiple shields up in different spots.

Also, you don't even need to kneel when setting up a shield in order to shoot past it once you stand up. Honestly, you tend to shoot past it a lot of the time, even when you set it up while standing and not moving. I just prefer to step forward a tad, as layering shields can be useful.

The section where your alien friend is held up at gunpoint is particularly rough. Obviously, you need to know to walk to the left to approach from BEHIND where he's being held up. Also, you need to be very quick when killing the alien on your side, since he kills your alien friend quickly. That's the hardest part of the game, in my opinion.

Yeah I'd definitely throw whatever I would be playing this on out the window. Neverhood is more my speed.

I wouldn't so much call it mastery, as I definitely died my fair share. I've been playing it since around 1995 or 1996, when I played the demo at school. I've played the Genesis version the most, although I used to own the SNES version (which is inferior). This is just one of those games that sticks with you, so it's easy to pick up and play again, even if it's been years since you last played it.
