Tony did many years in San Quintin. While there he carved incredibly detailed soap diaramas, and became a master artist, particularly traditional prison art generes such as smoke pack weaving, tiolet paper sculpture, etc.

  • I think Tony's a good example, too - and he does seem a nice fella, frank as he is about his past. I hope he goes on creating, specially now that he can have much more scope in materials.

  • Red Hot Tony is a fine example of making the most of your situation. What a great fella...and what an inventive and ingenious use of materials....just goes to show there's never an excuse if you are a true creative spirit.Work like this should be welcome in the finest of galleries. Loved the reference regarding the use of the soap to clean prisoners arses. A powerful source of material brimming with metaphor.Good luck to him and his endevours.
