This comes to us from Lignitzer's fifth play of the buckler: "Out of the Sturzhau do it thus: Pretend you're about to thrust over his shield to the left side and drive through with the point down and thrust at him to the body on the inside of his buckler." @Schlachtschule In fact, my buckler should really be up protecting my sword hand--its primary purpose--but I let it down to show the correct hand position in the video.

why not use the buckler as well to add to control of the opponents blade?
