Can you make the iPod touch 2g have the menu look like that one with the flat surface in the bottom and you can see the apps reflection.

try "text free" or "text plus." its available in the app store. as for calling, you do NEED a mic, but once you get that you can use "fring" also available in the app store. As for prices I have no idea, sorry.

alright prrrob a dumb question but, ii just got mine, and i tried to turn it on right after opening it, and all i keep getting is, the itune symbol and the usb pointing at it on the screen, how do i get to the home page??....do i have to charge it first ooor what, someone please help here??
