Lula also said that "Brazil got it's international citizenship with the games being hosted in Rio. We are not third class, we are first class. And there is no such thing as third class in manking, We are all equal, and that's what we want.
I'm from Brazil and I'm happy and for me it was a shock as how segregated America was when I moved here. Brazil is a melting pot, we pride that, we believe it makes us stronger and better the world.
Obama's election means a lot to us.

They are wrong on their perception of Brazilian's celebration and the soccer shirt as "in your face" teasing. The shirt was a gift of friendship and respect. Lula on his speech about the results talks about the importance of the games being hosted in Brazil and said "Lula didn't win and Obama didn't lose, Rio was selected as a city and that's it, we are not in competition against each other". He also praises Obama and express his respect for him as a proud moment to America and Brazil too.
