I'm just going by the description of it in Yoroi Samurai Warriors, the un-dubbed version: they just say it's a localized earthquake effect that crushes the enemy nothing about gravity mentioned, though that doesn't meant there isn't any gravity involved.
@TheBType I like to think there's a lot of gravity involved. It makes sense with all the rocks suddenly floating in the air and shattering on themselves that some kind of gravitational crushing effect is going on.
Actually, it creates a localized earthquake effect more or less.
The rising and exploding rocks is just special effects pretty much, like how Ryo's Wildfire Flare we never actually SEE the flare that often, just him slashing and then everything in front of him explodes.
Sure, a localized earthquake probably wouldn't hurt someone unless they fell or something, but neither are their magical element armors made from an evil Japanese god who curiously has a Scottish accent for some reason
Now ever since I saw ronin warriors, I never fully understood what Kento's kill technique did but I think I get it now. Basically, it creates a wave of gravitational flux that simutaneously stretches and compresses the enemy.
