Medical Marijuana in NC - Jean Marlowe Story, Part 2

September, 1997 - After meeting with fellow patients and activists who believed the U.S. prohibition of medical marijuana violated the U.N. Single Convention Treaty (allows patient to bring medicine legal in one country into country where it is not legal), I was given a trip to Switzerland and visited a Cannabis Hemp farm near Bern. The magic of being in a country where Mother Ganja is valued and freedom is respected was tempered only by knowing I'd soon have to return to prohibitionist America. But Switco, activists who mailed Medical Cannabis around the world, sent me a package after I got home - Customs and DEA found it and the Feds convicted me in June of 1998.
At my bond hearing in November, Robert Randall and Elvy Musikka, who recieve legal marijuana from the U.S. government (I.N.D. program), were there to press the Constitutional issue of equal treatment under the law.
But I was put in a cold jail cell, sick and in terrible pain. My doctor, family and friends fought for me - some even went to Washington, DC to get help from the National Organization for Marijuana Laws. When I was moved to another county jail, they held a vigil outside, drumming in the night.
Despite phone calls flooding the DA's and Governor's offices, the DA argued against compassion, because I was an "outspoken activist"!

VOTE GREEN (they've had an enlightened drugs policy since they were formed) & then the other politicians will see they lose votes for their stand on Medical marijuana! It is the sign of a sick society when there is no compassion for the sick & suffering! Yet look how the CIA smuggled heavy drugs & look how heroin is flowing from Afghanistan again since this 'war' for a gas pipeline! Google 'The popsicle index'!

Its wrong to put people through this stress for MEDICINE!!

My wife and I were just remarking about something similar. We both smoke each night. Still after almost 15 years we are both excelling at work and living a good life. I'm going to suggest that cannabis makes you smarter, but despite all the past rhetoric on cannabis effects, I am more of an intellect now than I have ever been.

these people are 100% entitled to medical cannabis, it's a very few extremists and activists who 1> prohibit the medical use to protect their tobacco market 2> trying to expand the use from medical to recreational ... of course this is a very complex issue, but the people in need want an answer

Everyone vist NORMAL, Send your new presedent, govener, senitors, your plee for the legalization of Medical Marijuana. So far 14 states have legalized medical use, and many more have decriminalized. We must not stop hear we must keep up the fight. The time is now. We have a new Prez. Legalize! New York state the next medical state, hears to Hope!
